Stanmore Block invites you to view artwork installations by Bridget Allen and Mandy Cherry Joass.
In this series the artists have responded to on site development activity, which continues around the work.
Bridget Allen (incidentally, the newly appointed Director of the Green Lab), uses multiple prints to create a sense of urban forest amongst the urban wasteland, heralding signs of new possibilities. Mandy Cherry Joass repurposes found materials including venetian blinds to create extraordinary volumetric experiences.
Artwork utilising old and unwanted building materials may be made available as an edition, creating value where none was thought to exist, and helping to support ongoing activity.
Entry to private opening requires reading and agreeing to a cautionary notice on the door.
Public viewing 24/7 for three weeks through the (new! clear!) windows.
5.30-7pm Mon 19 Jun 2023 is timed to coincide with the @LinwoodArtsandEastsideGallery show opening "Alter", an exhibition of art by young men who have experienced adversity through their lives and are receiving support through Waipuna and Tūmanako Trust. Please support both.
